Las Vegas is the largest city in the state of Nevada and is situated in the Mojave Desert. A part of this city is decorated by the lights and eccentricities of the hotels and casinos and it gives the vibe of a fairy tale or a wonderland.

It's pretty obvious that the climate is generally sunny, dry, and extremely hot. We are talking about a desert... it could not be anyway else. Winters are much cooler, but don't expect snow, even though the mountains surrounding the valleys turn a bit white during this season.

Compared with some other cities in the western side of the U.S., Las Vegas is a kind of new city. It was founded in 1905. Can you believe it? For many years this popular tourist spot was just a small settlement in the middle of the desert. But the construction of Hoover Dam and the legalization of gambling in Nevada changed the history for this piece of land.

The hotels and casinos of Las Vegas Boulevard are so close to one another that you can perfectly walk through them. The only bad thing is that during the summer the temperatures are so high that you might melt after a walk. Ok, we are just kidding, but it is pretty hot. A good option for the sunny days is the monorail that runs along the east side of the Strip and stops behind several of the hotels; the bus, that can be inexpensive and convenient; and finally, you can consider paying a cab!

As we told you, Vegas is more than gambling. Once you are here you might want to visit the Aquarium @ The Mirage, which is not free, but includes an awesome dolphin habitat, The Adventuredome at Circus Circus, the Botanical Gardens at the Bellagio (yes, this is a famous garden inside a more famous casino), and of course, refresh yourself at the fountain show at the same hotel.

For a little more nature and adventure, you can plan a visit to the Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas. If you enjoy walking then you will be absolutely delighted by the tons of hikes and trails they have to offer. The best part of all is that they are all completely natural and a true spectacle for the sight and for your camera. If you are looking to get away from the lights of The Strip, this is the perfect place to camp and connect with nature.

Vegas has the world tallest observation wheel Soaring 550 feet above the center of the Las Vegas Strip, the High Roller eclipses both the London Eye and Singapore Flyer. With sweeping 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Valley and The Strip, the wheel takes thirty minutes to complete one revolution and features twenty-eight spacious cabins to accommodate guests.

Once you are here, you can take your time to visit the spectacular Hoover Dam. The Hoover Dam Tour offers a unique way to see, learn and appreciate what Hoover Dam is all about. This tour offers guided exploration into lesser known parts of the dam and lasts longer than the Power Plant Tour.

For a little adrenaline rush, you can visit the Stratosphere Tower and the many wild activities that it has to offer. This is a very popular hotel that offers some risky attractions for the more adventurous souls. The Sky Jump is featured in the Guinness Record book as the highest controlled descent. Sky Jump is a heart-pounding leap from 829 feet above the neon lights of The Strip. We are shaking just by writing this.
