Blythe is so small and cute that you can basically count all of the city's assets: 24 churches, 1 library, 2 newspapers, 2 radio stations, 3 banks, 1 funeral home, and 1 recreation center. The recreation center is a great place for campers and hikers who love nature and want to spend a while in the great outdoors. This nice place offers six parks, seven campgrounds, seven RV parks and a public golf course.
Here is a fun fact about this place. The first automobile bridge over the Colorado River, that is located between Blythe and Ehrenberg, was constructed back in 1928 to replace a cable ferry service. But this was not enough! The bridge's successor was built in the early 1960s, and then it was expanded to four lanes and a pedestrian walkway in early 1974.
Blythe hosts a yearly event called the Blythe Bluegrass Festival, where an important number of local musicians delight the crowd with great music. You can bring your RV and stay at the Fairgrounds or nearby RV Resorts. This event goes on for three days!
Blythe is situated in the Palo Verde Valley, surrounded by a vast desert that's ideal for outdoor recreation.
If you are into archeology you can visit a place near the Big Maria Mountain where you'll find the very famous Intaglios here in Blythe. You will be delighted by the group of gigantic figures carved on the ground of the Colorado Desert. Don't be creeped out, these huge figures were created by humans... The reason is still a mystery.
Now that you are into the dessert fun you can also visit the Hauser Geode Beds that are very close to Blythe! This is a place to collect rocks and enjoy the desert vibes.
Thanks to this place's proximity to the Colorado River Recreation Area, visitors to Blythe can participate in many riverside activities. This river is a fishing friendly site. So you can grab your gear and see if you have any luck in the water. The area surrounding the river is ideal for biking, hiking, hunting and horseback riding. So you can be sure: you will never get bored.
