Fire Wave in Valley of Fire State Park (Las Vegas, NV)
Primary tabs
Even if you don’t go the famous Wave in Arizona, you can see nature’s wave effect in the Valley of Fire State Park.
The Fire Wave trail in Valley of Fire State Park was one of the best and unique trails for me, and the pictures speak for themselves.
The Fire Wave, located in Nevada's Valley of Fire State Park, is an easy hike to an amazing sandstone formation that resembles an ocean wave with its swirling patterns of red, pink, and white sandstone. Hikers should do this hike in the cooler months of the year because temperatures are well over 100 degrees during the summer months. The trail and rock formation itself have no shade or water available. The best time for photography at the Fire Wave is late afternoon and early evening and the post-non light accentuates the sandstone's colors.
