Tacoma doesn't have as many tourist spots as neighboring Seattle. But it is still a good place to relax and enjoy (with no pressure) the art scene. Tacoma has many theater options, art galleries, studios, and even a pretty nice ballet.
Once you are here, you might forget about driving because all you need to do is enjoy a little walk and take the Tacoma LINK- a light rail/streetcar line that runs in several strategic places. The best part: trains run every 10-20 minutes and the fares are free! There is also Pierce Transit, which operates on local bus routes.
You must check out the Point Defiance Park, which is the second largest city park in the US (after, of course, Central Park in New York City). It has forests, gardens, 100-year-old trees, and an impressive aquarium.
Enjoy Tacoma and discover amazing places that might interest you and try different flavors.
More Things to do in Tacoma:
You can't miss the LeMay Museum at Marymount. This place is absolutely impressive- you will be standing in front of one of the largest car collections of all time. About 1,500 vintage vehicles to be more accurate. You will also find tons of memorabilia and antiques that are always interesting to check out.
There is also the Museum of Glass, a place where you will look at the glass from a different perspective. We bet you could not even imagine the things that you will see here that are also made out of glass.
If you want to be completely blown away, you need to check out the Chihuly Bridge of Glass. This impressive result came as the combination of the efforts of the Museum of Glass, a glass artist named Dale Chihuly and others. This is a 500-foot long pedestrian overpass that connects the Museum to downtown Tacoma. Simply breathtaking and marvelous!
