The Ruston Way Waterfront along Commencement Bay in Tacoma is made up of several small parks connected by bike trails and sidewalks curving around pieces of artwork.

Ruston Way Park (the largest of the parks along Ruston Way) is popular among walkers and joggers, especially in the morning. It is also a very popular spot for picnicking because of the gentle sea breezes off Commencement Bay.

Kunsan, Korea Monument

Along Ruston Way, visitors can see a monument from one of Tacoma’s sister cities called the Kunsan, Korea Monument. The monument has the following inscription: "In commemoration of the centennial anniversary of the great state of Washington, the citizenry of Kusan City herein inscribes its friendship."

The granite sculpture was a gift to Tacoma from its sister city of Gunsan (Kunsan) South Korea. Presented in 1991 to commemorate Washington State's 100th anniversary, it is intended to signify Tacoma's relationship with Kunsan by confirming the sister city bonds and cooperation for common prosperity.
