Santa Ana lends its name to the Santa Ana Freeway (I-5), which runs through the city. It also shares its name with the nearby Santa Ana Mountains and the Santa Ana winds. 

Santa Ana experiences a hot semi-arid climate, which means that they have hot and very dry summers and mild winters. Not bad! 

A few freeways run through Santa Ana, connecting the city to other areas in Orange County, the Greater Los Angeles Area, and others. Amtrak provides service to Santa Ana several times on weekdays with less frequent service on weekends. Greyhound USA is the largest bus transportation service in Santa Ana.

Santa Ana is generally safe, though visible signs show that crime is once again on the rise. Avoiding walking alone at night, especially in the Logan and French Park areas. Santiago Park is often used as a gang base at night, so you should stay away from there.
