Students of California Lutheran University playing muggle quidditch (Thousand Oaks, CA)
Primary tabs
Do you remember the scenes from the Harry Potter movie where the students were playing games by riding on broomsticks?
The game in the Harry Potter films is called Quidditch.
Quidditch comes from the fictional Harry Potter sport of the same name. To differentiate the differences from the books, the fictional sport uses "Quidditch" (capitalized), whereas the sport played per International Qiddith Association (IQA) rules uses "quidditch" (uncapitalised). The real-life sport was created in 2005 at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, by Xander Manshel and Alex Benepe (both students there).
Students in California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks are seen playing muggle quidditch. Aren’t they very cute playing with foam sticks made to look like broomsticks? ;)
Even though it's not high tech like the movie scenes, it was fun to watch!
