Many tourists visit Fairbanks to watch auroras, so I am going to introduce a popular hostel in Fairbanks this time.

Often travelers make reservation at the local lodge. But in that case, people have to pay $80 every time they use transportation, since there is no local transportation available, and no food is available near the area.

Comfortable Billie's Backpackers Hostel is located near the main campus of the University of Alaska. Downtown Fairbanks is 3 miles from the hostel, easily accessible by city bus just 1 block from the hostel. It is within walking distance to the Museum of the North, Artisan's Courtyard, Summer Arts Festival, Farmer's Market, Tanana Valley State Fair, Creamer's Field (bird sanctuary),  and local restaurants and a pub.

The owner of Billie's Backpackers Hostel was born and raised in Fairbanks, and has raised her 7 children here. These days, she opens her home as a small, welcoming family-style hostel. It is cozy, casual, and full of the “quirkiness” of old Fairbanks.

Billie's Backpackers Hostel is world famous, and people come from all over.
It is a great place to get to know other travelers.

The hostel is where visitors can meet locals and feel like a part of Billie's extended family.
It is not like other industrial-sized hostels that have strict rules.
It is a small Fairbanks home that is energetic, lively, and inviting.

I only have pictures of the outside of Billie's Backpackers Hostel.
You can check out its web site for more information.

It is easy to find since you can quickly spot the uniquely shaped-roof building.

Interesting art made with snow was displayed in front of the hostel.
