Camarillo is generally a suburban bedroom community with a bar scene that is generally dominated by locals. Locals say not to bother with the lone nightclub in Camarillo which has gone through multiple name changes and is still unpopular with anyone over 22.
The climate here is a warm-summer Mediterranean. You will experience warm and dry summers, but you are not going to fry in the middle of the street.
The Camarillo Airport, at the site of the former Oxnard Air Force Base, is a small general aviation airport. It has active chapters of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Commemorative Air Force and operates an annual air show in the spring that attracts many people.
The Pleasant Valley and Recreation and Park District has hosted the Camarillo Christmas Parade since 1962. The Christmas Parade usually occurs during the first or second weekend in December.

If your thing is shopping, then you will find the best sales and discounts at the Camarillo Premium Outlets. They have the big brands like Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Nike Factory Store, Lululemon Athletica, and many more. They also have an IMAX Theater for all of those who love movies and want to live the complete experience.
Visit Camarillo Grove Park, a beautiful place where you will understand that sometimes nature is all you need to create a special moment and a lot of special memories. The site contains the oldest tree in the area and was once a stagecoach stop. Visitors can enjoy the Outdoor Nature Center and several short hiking trails.
For a little more action, you can schedule a visit to the WWII Aviation Museum (located at Camarillo Airport). This will be a complete treat for those who love aviation, or simply for those who love to grasp a little bit of history. Here you will see some actual planes that fought during World War II- true cultural gems.
The Pleasant Valley Historical Society opened its Pleasant Valley Museum in 1988 to help preserve the local history. Exhibits include historical books and newspapers, over 2,000 period photographs, and a special collection of hand-made fire engine models. The property also includes the Charles L. Honn Botanical Garden, containing a number of native California plants and trees.
