When I last visited Hatcher Pass Lodge, it was not open yet. But this time it was open, so I stayed a night enjoying Alaska’s white night and had a meal at the Hatcher Pass Lodge.
Since I introduced Hatcher Pass and Hatcher Pass Lodge in the other posting, I will show you my experience dinning in the Hatcher Pass Lodge restaurant.
- Hatcher Pass/Hatcher Pass Lodge: Snowed in Summer!
Many cabins were already booked when I was there.
Once you get into the Hatcher Pass Lodge restaurant, you can feel the warm and unique local atmosphere strongly.
The fireplace burning coal warmed up the inside.Because Hatcher Pass Lodge is located at the top of the mountain, it was rather cold outside. It was very nice to feel the warmth once I got inside the restaurant.
The triangle shaped roof created Hatcher Pass Lodge’s own unique atmosphere.
Since there were many windows, people can dine here while looking outside at the scenery.
The window seating was very inviting.
People can relax at the balcony drinking warm tea or coffee.
This is one of the scenes looking out through the window.
Anywhere you look out through window there is amazing scenery.
Coffee and tea are prepared to drink for free here.
As expected, prices for the food in the Hatcher Pass Lodge restaurant are high tourist place rates, but it is the only restaurant around here, and the view is awesome.
Berries are abundant everywhere around here. If you come to Hatcher Pass in the fall, you can enjoy picking berries and the scenery. Although it is located inside a state park, picking berries is permitted, and you can pick as many as you want.
This is a halibut burger that I ordered.
These are house made desserts.
Since I have a sweet tooth, I love desserts.
This is a full-blossomed dandelion in front of Hatcher Pass Lodge. It looks like all the parts will fly away if I give it just one small blow.
