In 1916, around the start of promotion of Bryce Canyon as a tourist attraction, Reuben C. "Ruby" Syrett built a lodge and cabins in this location (known as Ruby’s Inn).
Best Western Plus Ruby's Inn is located in Bryce Canyon City, which was formerly known as Ruby's Inn, and is the closest town to Bryce Canyon National Park, just outside the entrance to the park- about 2.5 miles (4 km.) from the park's visitor center.
Best Western Plus Ruby's Inn is the perfect place to use as a base for exploring the area with the accommodations, RV Park/Campground, and amenities for the Bryce Canyon area. Besides a gas station and restaurant, there is a gift shop and general store that is the largest in the area.
This is the gift shop & general store in Ruby's Inn with an impressive selection of authentic Southwestern Indian arts and crafts, including jewelry, pottery, and weavings. Also, the general store was selling groceries, camping gear, clothing, shoes, and other things.
Literary, it had pretty much everything for travelers.
The high ceiling gave it a spacious feel inside.
Ruby’s Inn at Bryce Canyon is also a destination in and of itself with horseback riding, mountain biking, guided ATV rides, and helicopter tours, along with western experiences such as rodeos and more.
This is my friend thinking about dinner. He might’ve smelled the foods from Ruby’s Inn restaurant …;)
To stay in Best Western Plus Ruby's Inn, it is hard to reserve a room unless you do it much earlier than the day you want to stay, even though the rates are pricey here.
We did not stay at Ruby's Inn, so I do not know what is like staying over night here. But here’s some general information about the lodging.
The rustic lodge-style hotel’s rooms feature free W-Fi, flat-screen TVs and desks, plus microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers. Some rooms have lake views, while higher end rooms also have sitting areas and in-room whirlpool tubs.
The hotel has both indoor and outdoor (seasonal) pools and a basketball court. For dining, there is a cowboy-themed buffet restaurant and a diner.
I heard from a friend that even if the buffet restaurant in Ruby's Inn did not have the large selection that you would expect from other buffet restaurants, the taste of most foods was excellent. Also, my friend added a comment it was the perfect right after a long hike in Bryce Canyon National Park. ;)
