Ok, let me tell you beforehand that Artichoke is not a restaurant, this is a place (a very small one) where you go, grab your slice of pizza and take it out to eat elsewhere. So if your are the reservation and sitting down on a table kind of person, this is NOT a recommendation for you.
Let me introduce you to Artichoke, my favorite pizza place in all of NY (and this is a tough choice to make in a city where they serve great pizza in pretty much every corner). This is just a small place where you go, select a slice of pizza from their display and take it out to enjoy. Every bite is heavenly.

You will need tons of patience because this place is always crowded (unless you are on your lucky day) and there is not much space for the line. You might even feel a little claustrophobic, but the pain is worth the gain. Ok so the place is called artichoke for a reason, that's why you NEED to order their artichoke pizza. At first, I thought that was a weird combination but I decided I wanted the full experience, and thank God that I let myself completely in because, in fact, this is a delish combination

If you can't wait to take these babies home, then eat them in the middle of the street like I did. This way you will be able to order an extra slice in case you need to, but they are big enough to satisfy your appetite.
Trust me, next time you visit NY and you happen to be in the East Village you need to make a quick stop here to delight your palate.
OMG! I wish I could teleport myself over there. I'm hungry now.
