Las Cruces is very popular for hosting tons of events and festivals throughout the year. Among them, you can enjoy Cowboy Days (March), Cinco de Mayo (May), the Border Book Festival (April), the Harvest Wine Festival (Labor Day weekend), Southern New Mexico State Fair (October), and the local Day of the Dead (November). Also, during the Whole Enchilada Fiesta (September), they prepare a huge enchilada, one that is so big that it was recognized by the Guinness World Records. As you can see the Mexican influence is very important in the culture of Las Cruces' residents.

For a little bit of street art, you can go check out the Las Cruces Water Tank Murals. In New Mexico, water tanks are very common as the traditional way to store some water. These huge pieces also make a great canvas for art. Don't they? These tanks are right before the Lohman exit off I-25 in Las Cruces and when you go you must make sure you take a camera.
