Cool Zumwalt Meadow & Roaring River Falls (Fresno, CA)
Primary tabs
The scenery at Zumwalt Meadow in Kings Canyon National Park is similar to that of Yosemite with a river flowing through the meadow. Because it is a meadow, the river does not flow with a strong current, but at a leisurely pace. At the edge of the valley is a trail that is approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km.) long where the whole family can go for a stroll. The surrounding granite mountain peaks act as a barrier to the flat meadow.
Roaring River Falls is located near Zumwalt Meadow. Just like its name suggests, the waterfall is very powerful. The current is stronger and the water level is deeper than that of the water in Zumwalt Meadows, so water play is not recommended in this area.
Kings Canyon's temperature can be cooler than coastal areas and is ideal for the whole family to enjoy.
