Baltimore is known for being a very popular tourist destination in Maryland. People come here looking forward to eating seafood, especially the famous Maryland crab cakes and crab soup. But there is more to Baltimore than simply great food, there is a lot of art going on here too. This is the reason why museums and art festivals are very popular in this city.

The tourist might like this place because the weather is temperate, the people are very friendly and the nightlife is fun!

Baltimore is located within the humid subtropical climate zone, this means that the weather is milder and less extreme. This is why Baltimore is a place that is cool for visits throughout the year!

Public transportation in Baltimore is not as great as you might think it is. To get around Baltimore on the cheap by public transport, especially outside of the harbor area, you will sacrifice convenience, but the MTA buses are the way to go.

As you might know, Baltimore is a predominantly African-American community, so this is the place to get in touch with their history. You can visit the Great Blacks in Wax Museum to get a glimpse at African American history through art pieces.

You can also visit the Baltimore Harbor, that is a major tourist attraction in the city. Here you will delight with live music, a bit of shopping and delicious treats.

If you are not into the typical tourist spots, there are some other activities that you can schedule for your trip:
- Fort McHenry is the most important historic attraction. this place gained an iconic status in American history by successfully defending the Baltimore harbor from the British naval bombardment in the War of 1812. The event caused Francis Scott Key to write the "The Star-Spangled Banner," America's national anthem.

- The Creative Alliance is a vibrant arts center that hosts over 100 events every single year.

- The Black Eyed Susan (Paddle Boat) a delicious place to please your palate with some local goodies!
