The first snow in Anchorage came down last week. 

Since the first snow came down, I went out around the Anchorage area to take some pictures.

These are mid-town and nearby scenes with snow on the first day of snow this year.

 

All the local mountains are covered in white and it feels like the roads are cleaner. 



It was pleasant all the way driving around.  



Snow came down earlier than last year, and all the citizens were happy to see the snow early, yet were worried it won’t come often this year. 



The fall foliage is still here and the snow hurried to come.  




The snow melted fast enough to not be a problem for driving.  



I drove close to the mountain ahead.





Snow filled the trees.



Snow filled the tops of houses as well. 




I drove to the ski resort. 



There was enough snow to enjoy skiing. 



People who couldn’t wait came already to ski. Since the resort is not open yet, there was no fee to ski.




The trails were covered with snow as well.



The colorful fall mountain and white snow covered mountain go well together.
