Be a fashionable "quinceañera!" All the glitz and glamor about turning 15
Likes: 0

I still remember the day I turned 15- I was not into the big party. My parents offered me two nice options: a trip or a party! And of course, I picked the trip :)
"Quince años" are a big deal in Latin American countries like Mexico or Venezuela. They are the equivalent of the very American Sweet 16, the only difference is that we chose to celebrate it a year earlier. This is a celebration mostly for girls and it's special because it marks the transition from childhood to young womanhood.
So, going back to my trip, I traveled to Disney (Orlando) and Miami with my school friends. It was an amazing experience. I don't regret my choice because it was more than a week of fun... A party only lasts for some hours.
Now, most girls choose to have a "quinceañera" party (or they can have both, the party and the trip). These parties are more like weddings: big dresses and glamorous locations.

The super event idea is pretty common among teenage girls and that's why I'm focusing this post on the fashion involved in this event.
A few years ago themed "quinceañeras" parties became the big thing!!! Girls choose Hollywood, aquatic, and even Arabic themes for their parties. I've seen some cool ideas and some nice options for dresses that are perfect to celebrate womanhood.
Some cool ideas!
Some cool ideas!
First things first: the dress

How about this baby blue two-piece dress?

If you go for a neon-themed party these cupcakes might be fun- yum!

This bottle is perfect for a toast at a very pink and sparkly party.
Now we need to talk about the "quinceañera's" arrival
Fashion turned things over: before "quiceañeras" arrived and danced the waltz with their fathers. This was the big part of the party that represented that special moment when the girl becomes a woman. Now the girls choose something more modern, they make big appearances and they even put their dancing skills to the test with modern choreographies.
I would dare to break the mold and prepare an outdoor party, a swimming pool party:

This would be a lot of fun! It's different, cool, comfortable, and cheaper. You don't need to decorate much because the pool in the middle of the place will do wonders, you don't need to empty your bank account on a sparkly huge dress because all you need is a cute bikini, sunglasses, and of course, tons of fun friends to celebrate in the water.
If you are a more traditional kind of girl (or parent) and decide to go for the ballroom party there are tons of videos and TV shows to seek some inspiration.
Look at this video for more fashion and decoration tips to make your dreams come to life.
